This chart displays key employment data for each of Rhode Island's industries, including average annual wages, total number of jobs in the state, and projected change in job numbers. These figures encompass jobs for all RI workers other than those classified as "self-employed” or “unpaid family workers."
Each circle represents a single industry. Circle size is proportional to the industry’s workforce in 2012; color indicates expected change in employment by 2022, with “hotter” colors indicating stronger growth. Hover over a circle to see the industry's name, proportional size in the state, average annual wages, and projected job growth. Wages reflect the four quarters from Q3 2013 through Q2 2014. Future employment numbers are projected using a national model that factors in RI's employment trends and other considerations. The table below the chart offers figures for all industries.
