Introduction
The Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) monitors health-risk behaviors such as tobacco use, alcohol and drug use, and sexual behaviors, as well as the prevalence of obesity and asthma among youth and young adults.
Conducted every two years by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and state and local education and health agencies, the YRBS is a school-based survey given to a representative sample of students in grades 9-12.
